Botpress changed its pricing on May 14, 2026, and the announcement says the new prices apply only to workspaces created after that date. The pricing page lists four plans. Free costs $0 and includes 25 conversations, 3 seats and 3 AI agents. Plus is $150 a month billed annually, with 250 conversations a month, 3 seats and $25 of AI usage. Team is $750 a month billed annually, with 1,500 conversations a month, unlimited seats and $150 of AI usage. Enterprise is a custom quote. These are annual-billing prices: the page advertises a 20% saving for paying annually, but the monthly-billing prices sit behind a toggle that could not be read, so every table on this site uses the annual-billing figure for Botpress. Extra conversations come in packs of 100: $65 on Plus, which the page works out as $0.65 per conversation, and $50 on Team, or $0.50 per conversation. A storage add-on costs $40 a month on Plus and Team. A managed service called Built For You was announced at $1,650 a month, but the live page now says only "Contact us". Workspaces created on or before May 14, 2026 keep the legacy price book, which bills incoming messages instead of conversations: a free pay-as-you-go tier with 500 incoming messages and events a month, Plus at $89 a month ($79 billed annually) with 5,000, and Team at $495 a month ($445 billed annually) with 50,000, each plus AI usage at provider cost. What you are billed for
Botpress bills conversations. The pricing page defines a conversation as any exchange with at least two messages from the end user in the billing month. A conversation that runs across two months counts in both. Each anonymous session counts as a separate conversation. On voice, 3 minutes count as one conversation. A chat that a person handles counts the same as one the AI handles, and so do test conversations in the emulator. The allowance resets every month and nothing rolls over. The catch is what happens at the limit. Paid plans are never cut off. Instead, when a workspace reaches 95% of its allowance, Botpress automatically adds a pack of 100 conversations, at $65 on Plus or $50 on Team. The pricing page says this cannot be turned off. The pack then stays on the bill month after month until you remove it in billing settings, and unused conversations in a pack expire at month end. The page says you are notified at 75% and 100% of the allowance and on every pack purchase; the May 2026 announcement says 80% and 90%. AI usage is a second, smaller meter. Each included conversation carries $0.10 of LLM cost, pooled across the workspace. At 95% of that AI budget, Botpress automatically buys a $10 credit grant, which the page says is sold at cost and carries over for up to 12 months. The page also says a spend cap and configurable thresholds are coming soon, which means they do not exist yet. The Free plan has no top-ups or overages. Legacy workspaces are metered differently: they count incoming messages and events, and the documentation says the bot stops responding once that quota is used up, unless you buy 5,000 more for $20 a month. Our guide to what counts as a conversation compares these definitions across vendors. Source

What the free plan really allows
The Free plan is permanent and the home page says no credit card is required. The pricing page lists 25 conversations, 3 seats, 3 AI agents, 1,000 table rows, 100 MB of vector storage and 100 MB of file storage, with webchat and WhatsApp shown as channels on every plan. Botpress's own pages disagree on the allowance: the May 2026 announcement lists 100 conversations for Free, while the live pricing page lists 25. We use the pricing-page figure. The Free plan excludes conversation packs and top-ups, AI credit grants, storage add-ons, white-label webchat and live-chat support. Because emulator tests count as conversations, the pricing-page allowance is enough to try the builder but too small to run a bot on a live site for a month.
What it costs at three volumes
The cheapest published Botpress plan that covers three monthly volumes of conversations, on monthly billing. It is arithmetic on the vendor's price list, not a quote.
| Product | 100 conversations a month | 1,000 conversations a month | 5,000 conversations a month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Botpress | $150 (Plus) | $750 (Team) | Custom quote |
The table uses Botpress's annual-billing prices because the monthly-billing prices could not be read from the pricing page, and it counts plan allowances only: it does not add the auto-purchased conversation packs (which can make Plus with packs cheaper than Team, and which are the only published way past the Team allowance), extra AI credit grants, the storage add-on or third-party channel fees.
