There are two ways to buy. Inside the Intercom helpdesk you pay per Full seat: Essential costs $39 per seat a month on monthly billing ($29 billed annually), Advanced costs $99 ($85 billed annually) and adds the Workflows builder plus 20 free Lite seats, and Expert costs $139 ($132 billed annually) with 50 Lite seats, SSO and HIPAA support. The Intercom pricing page shows the annual figures by default, so the monthly prices are easy to miss. On every plan Fin adds $0.99 per outcome. The second route is Fin on top of another helpdesk: no seats, $0.99 per outcome, a minimum of 50 outcomes a month, and sales-assisted onboarding. Optional extras are priced separately: Copilot at $35 per agent a month ($29 billed annually), the Pro analytics add-on from $99 a month, and Proactive Support Plus at $99 a month including 500 messages. SMS starts at $0.06 per segment, and outbound WhatsApp, phone and bulk email are also pay-as-you-go. Fin Voice is quote-only. One caution: on September 18, 2026 the source code of fin.ai/pricing carried a price-test variant showing Essential at $19 per seat, while intercom.com still listed $29. This page treats the higher figure as the list price until the vendor changes it.

What you are billed for
Fin bills per outcome, not per message or per conversation. The vendor used to call this unit a resolution and now calls it an outcome, because it covers more than resolved questions. The outcomes article lists four types: a resolution, a Procedure handoff and a sales disqualification cost $0.99 each, and a sales qualification costs $9.99. A conversation is charged at most once, however many questions the customer asks. A resolution is confirmed when the customer replies with something like "that helped". It is assumed when the customer stays silent for 24 hours after Fin's last answer, so silence is billed. A Procedure is a step-by-step task you configure for Fin; if you set one up to end with a person taking over, that handoff is billed even though a human finishes the job. You are not charged when Fin escalates by default, when the customer asks for a person, or when a Procedure fails on a technical error. If a customer returns after a resolution, the help center says the charge is deducted. There is no allowance and no cap by default: every outcome in the billing period is charged after the fact. You can set email alerts at 50%, 80% and 100% of a threshold you choose, plus a hard limit. At the hard limit Fin stops answering and new conversations go straight to your handover steps until the billing period rolls over. Fin on another helpdesk carries a minimum of 50 outcomes a month, which the help center describes as a base plan of $49 a month, and unused outcomes are lost, not carried over. Because other vendors count every AI conversation, not only resolved ones, read what counts as a conversation before comparing prices. Source

What the free plan really allows
Intercom Fin has no free plan. The trial lasts 14 days, needs no credit card, and includes all features, add-ons and, per the pricing page, unlimited Fin outcomes. After the trial you need at least 1 paid Full seat. Startups can apply for the Early Stage program, which the pricing page lists at 93% off in year one, 50% off in year two and 25% off in year three. The program includes 300 free Fin outcomes in year one, but the pricing page does not say whether that is per month or per year, and a help article says per month, so ask before you rely on it. What it costs at three volumes
The cheapest published Intercom Fin plan that covers three monthly volumes of resolutions, on monthly billing. It is arithmetic on the vendor's price list, not a quote.
| Product | 100 resolutions a month | 1,000 resolutions a month | 5,000 resolutions a month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Intercom Fin | $99 | $990 | $4,950 |
The table multiplies outcomes by the per-outcome price only; Intercom helpdesk seats (at least one Full seat), add-ons and pay-as-you-go channels such as SMS are extra, and Fin on another helpdesk has a monthly minimum that these volumes already exceed.
