## What the free plan really allows

The Personal plan is permanent, not a trial. The pricing page lists unlimited typebots, 200 chats a month, native integrations, webhooks, custom JavaScript and CSS, and community support. It keeps Typebot branding on the bot and leaves out file-upload inputs, folders, WhatsApp, custom domains and in-depth analytics. There is no AI quota to run out of, because AI calls go through your own provider account. What Typebot does when a free workspace passes its chat cap is not documented, so ask before you rely on it for a campaign. The other free route is self-hosting, which the docs say gives access to all features on your own servers.

What can be checked is the project itself: GitHub's API showed 10,333 stars and 3,206 forks on the public repository, with release v3.19.0 published on September 14, 2026, which indicates active maintenance, not bot performance. The vendor's [business-continuity page](https://typebot.com/business-continuity) states that Typebot is bootstrapped and profitable, ISO 27001 certified, and led by founder Baptiste Arnaud with part-time collaborators; it also offers an optional escrow agreement in case he becomes unavailable. Those are vendor statements. The trust center that should hold the certificate and the data-processing agreement could not be read, and review-site ratings were not accessible. The privacy policy says processing takes place primarily in the UK and the European Economic Area and names providers including Vercel, PlanetScale, AWS and Cloudflare.

Pick Typebot if you want scripted flows and lead capture at a low price per chat, you are comfortable plugging in your own AI key, or you need to host the builder on your own servers. Skip it if you need a support desk: there is no inbox, no built-in knowledge base and no Meta channel beyond WhatsApp on Pro. Buyers who need vendor scale should also weigh that the company is, by its own account, led by one founder, even though the source code and the escrow offer soften that risk.
